Here is another work in progress. Both of these paintings begin with gestual ink or watercolor washes (in this case on gessoed paper). However for this one I had the general idea for the central "land mass" in mind before execution. Everything else is intuitive and in reaction the previous marks. I move from general to specific, however specific it gets I can't say. I'm really into asteroids.
