Chaos Debt Jet

The print dept. at school has a print exchange every spring, this years theme is "hated objects" Some of us aren't to keen on the theme. I have decided to subvert the theme and use an anagram. Hated objects becomes Chaos Debt Jet. This is the preliminary drawing. The actual print could be something entirely different however. I'll post the print when it is finished.

Here is another work in progress. Both of these paintings begin with gestual ink or watercolor washes (in this case on gessoed paper). However for this one I had the general idea for the central "land mass" in mind before execution. Everything else is intuitive and in reaction the previous marks. I move from general to specific, however specific it gets I can't say. I'm really into asteroids.

More painting, more details. Not sure about Batman though. The image came about from a Google image search for "comic explosions" where I found a website for a Batman stunt team. I am assuming they perform some sort of "action" routine at an amusement park.

The Future of Worm-hole Travel

This is watercolor, goauche, ink, colored pencil, graphite and acrylic on paper. About 47 in. x 43in.
My studio on the ninth floor overlooks the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts'
Museum. The imagery is my interpretation and reaction to some of the architectural elements. It is currently on display in the current student show in Gallery 128.

The newest lithograph

This is a five (printed) color lithograph. Black, orange, a rainbow roll of blue and pink,
and magenta, respectively printed. The blue and pink rainbow roll created a beautiful
lavender blend down the middle. The transparent nature of lithography ink creates many subtle color changes and blends.

My wife has titled this, "Ethan Frohm Meets RainbowBrite". Having never read
Ethan Frohm I am hesitant about the title. I understand there is a delapidated house
that is central to the story. Maybe I should read it.
